How to take a good photo?

| It is important on both techniques and esthetics for a good photo.
Although esthetics is based on personal point of view, but lots of photos are ruined by lack of techniques. We'd like to offer some advisable photographic techniques. |

It is advised to get closer to the target object rather than shooting from distance and using the zooming lens.
Some zooming cameras will lose quality while pulled away. And flash light will fade when needed. Try to utilize your distance to construct your photograph.

Pay extra attention on the background. |
|
|
It is advise that to pay extra attention on the messy background behind the target object.
If it appears to be a poll or a tree behind, the image taken will be defocused. People usually like to take the photo together with the natural landscape or historical site.
However, it is suggested to consider if the surrounding will affect the entire picture or not. Simple layout will make the photo more understandable.
Messy background will distract views' attention to others and neglect the theme of the photograph.

While taking portrait photo, the target person will always look very stiff if he/she is not used to the camera.
You may start with talking with the him/her and ask him/her for more natural movements.
You will be surprised when you catch the right moment.

Portrait photography can be categorized into:
close-shooting, half-body shooting, 2/3 boy shooting, full-body shooting, and environment shooting.
Many various photo shootings can be made according to the conditions of the people subject and background to increase the enjoyment.
By shooting the subject from different angle or with different posting style, the effect would be more vivid and dramatic.
While taking the environmental portrait, it is suggested to composite the background horizontal line on the 1/3 or 2/3 on the shooting frame to increase the balance feeling.
Try to put the main subject into the center of the of the frame (the cross area between the three equally divided vertical and horizontal zones.)
This is so called the golden rule of thumb for photo shooting to maximize the visual and balance effects.

Placing an object in front. |

|
Placing an object in front of the target can enhance the depth of the photo as well as the fun of picture and background.
And, on the other hand, it will also enhance the main theme of the photograph.
When the object is focused, there will be a clear range in front and behind the object called depth.
Effectively utilize the depth, will create surprising effect.
For instance, increasing aperture will make the background blur and focus on the main object and decreasing aperture will make the surrounding clearer.

The direction and strength of the light source. |
|
|
You have to know where is the sunlight is from. Direct sunlight will cause over-contrast.
Frontal light source will cause your face flat and white. Ideal light source will be gentle light from the side way.
It will the model looks more vivid and also natural shadow will be created to make the outline more obvious.

Stabilize the camera. |

|
Unstable camera while shooting will cause imperfect photograph and it may be mislead to focus adjustment issue.
Therefore, when you are taking your shot, you should either hold your camera firm or get as close as you can toward the object.
If the photo is taken under weak light source, it is very easy to cause shaking and hence blurry.
It is advised to use tri-poles with remote shutter, or using flash lights and raise the ISO value.
Or, using countdown automatic shooting to avoid shaking due to press of shutter.

The strength of the light source. |
|
|
You have to know where is the sunlight is from. Direct sunlight will cause over-contrast.
But insufficient light source will not product satisfactory result. Only suitable strength of light source will deliver ultimate results.

Flash light is to enhance your light source even shooting in the indoor or bad weather environment.
But, however, the effective range of flash light is very limited. If you can induce more nature light source will make the final result even more natural.
