My company does visual effects for motion pictures and we work with most of the major movie studios. We are currently working on XXXXXX and recently completed shots for XXXXXX due out in March.
Our typical final product is 35mm motion picture film and we usually deliver digital data to a couple of "output" houses in Hollywood for filmout.
We purchased one of your printers (630PS) for the occasional "hard copy" situations that inevitably arise. We may use it to output storyboards or "proof of concept" work. We like the photo quality and consistent print to print matching. The advertised light fastness of the pictures was also an appealing feature (although we havn't had any shots long enough to test this). We work quite hard on our images and it's a shame to see them faded after only a few months when printed on a standard ink jet printer.
The only complaint we have is the lack of Mac OSX drivers. We use Linux PCs for the bulk of our heavy duty computation but most of our still frame design work is done on macs. We are currently dumping images onto a CF card and printing from that, instead of using the computer interface. It works but doesn't allow us to take full advantage of your product. Hopefully you will get that working soon and maybe you can alert me as to how I can get a copy.
I also have to admit that I've made use of your printer for personal reasons... I printed out 80 or so christmas card photos this past season and they met with rave reviews!"
